AI - Claude Dashboards and Motion are now in beta

Claude is getting a couple of new ways to turn information into something more useful than a wall of chat text 🤣 Dashboards can turn data into interactive dashboards, while Motion can turn ideas and reports into short animations.

I am excited to try out both of these new features once I get them 🤣

Claude Dashboards and Motion

Official announcement

Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion announcement on X

Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion are in beta today.

Ask Claude to turn your data into live dashboards and your ideas into animated explainers.

What are they?

Anthropic shared more detail about Claude Motion in the announcement thread. The interesting part is that Claude writes the animations as code rather than generating them with a video model:

Claude Motion turns reports, charts, or product walkthroughs into short animations. Claude writes each one as code, with no video model involved, so you can change any word, number, or timing, then export an MP4. In beta on Team and Enterprise plans.

That should make the result easier to revise than a typical generated video, where changing one small detail can mean regenerating the whole thing. It will be interesting to see how well the code-based approach works for more complex explainers 🤣

Claude Dashboards takes a different kind of information and makes it interactive. TestingCatalog says Claude can query data platforms or CRM tools to build dashboards, with the dashboard generated as code.

Availability

Anthropic says Claude Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. TestingCatalog reports that Claude Dashboards is available on all paid plans, while Motion is available on Team and Enterprise.

ANTHROPIC 🔥: Claude Dashboards is now available on all paid plans; Claude Motion is now available on Team and Enterprise plans.

Claude can query your data platform or CRM tool to build interactive dashboards or short animations.

Everything is generated as code 👀

Another proof that Anthropic’s focus on software development was the right direction, and it allowed them to slide into the enterprise world very seamlessly.

That’s a huge deal for analytics teams and product manager roles, as well as thousands of others.

This sounds useful if the connections and outputs work reliably. Dashboards that can be built from your existing data could save time, and code-based animations should be easier to edit than a finished video. The obvious questions are which data sources are supported and how much control you get over the final result. I have not tried either feature yet, so we will have to see how they work in practice 😊
