AI - Copilot Notebooks now support Markdown (.md), rich text format (.rtf) and plain text (.txt) as sources

From their official blog:

Copilot Notebooks can now use Markdown (.md), rich text format (.rtf) and plain text (.txt) files as references—helping you bring more of the content your work runs on into one focused workspace.

I think the inclusion of Markdown alone is huge because most of the AI driven documentation is in Markdown format these days. Your README.md files, your documentation, your blog posts, etc. So if you want to reference them in Copilot Notebooks, you can now do so 🤣

Official announcement

Copilot Notebooks now works with Markdown, plain-text, and rich-text files

CRITICAL

Funny that their blog references - Copilot Notebooks - https://aka.ms/copilotnotebooks which goes to OneNote Notebooks. That is NOT the same product.

Microsoft even has a page for it:

Compare Microsoft 365 Copilot Notebooks and Microsoft OneNote Notebooks

Copilot Notebooks helps you work through a specific project with AI support.

OneNote Notebooks provide a flexible structure for long-term note organization and sharing.

Somebody did not check the link, but it points out how confusing the naming of products has become 🤣
