AI - You can now copy someone else's Gemini Notebooks! And other AI news

Users can now make a copy of a notebook, including all sources and artifacts!

CRITICAL

As per this thread, there are limitations. As free version can only have 50 sources, so if you want to copy a notebook with more than 50 sources, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Gemini Notebook

If you know me, you would have heard me talking about NotebookLM (a former name of what is now called Gemini Notebook) 😊 I do not use it for work, but for my hobbies like Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) as it is the best free AI tool that lets me reference rules and create new cool things based on bunch of PDFs. It can do a lot more, but this is what I use it for the most 😊

Schools use it now to create more interesting course materials and lessons, it is a very powerful tool. Recently, they added an option to create PDFs in line as well - killer feature! But today they finally let you copy someone else’s notebook!

So if you want to share one with your friends, it is now super simple 😊

Microsoft Copilot Notebooks

Microsoft has their own version, Copilot Notebooks and for corporate use it is the one you probably should look at. Not as fully featured (yet 🤣), and paywalled for the most part, but it is there.

They recently made it available to a lot more people, so if you are on a Microsoft 365 plan, you should be able to use it. The official announcement What’s New in Notebooks | June 2026

This blog would be 5000 pages long if I were to go over all the features and use cases, but I will leave that to you to discover 😊

Note on other AI news

NOTE

There were plenty of AI news in the last 24 hours, I could have talked about Grok 4.6, Gemini Flash 3.7 or Microsoft merging Copilot and Copilot 365 into one app. Those are all useful updates, but I wanted to focus on the thing that I am really passionate about: Gemini Notebooks 😊, as those are my favourite free AI tools out there and I am really liking how they are getting progressively better 😊
